FRIEZE AND SLUICE: CONTEMPORARY ART FAIRS IN LONDON

London is the place to be the next week for art lovers. Frieze Art Fair 2011 will open its doors to the public on Thursday 13th until Sunday 16th and Sluice Art Fair is opening for art lovers as is running over the weekend of 15-16 October.

Frieze Art Fair takes place in the very famous Regent’s Park (London) and is focused on Contemporary Art and living artists. In 2011 edition Frieze features over 170 of the most important galleries from the world including emerging areas like South America and Asia. More than 1.000 innovative artists from over 30 countries will present theirs artworks.

Frieze Art Fair is also know by its prestigious curatorial programme, Frieze Projects, one of the most acclaimed sections of the Fair which presents commissioned works by international artists. The artists selected to participate are Cara Tolmie, Christian Jankowski, Oliver Laric, Bik Van der Pol, Peles Empire, LuckyPDF, Laure Prouvost and Pierre Huyghe.

Frame is their section for new galleries, a place that features solo projects from galleries opened less than six years ago. Visitors are also encouraged to participate at Frieze Talks and Frieze Films.

Sluice is a new art fair taking place in the London West End galleries district. Sluice Art Fair is a platform for new galleries, project spaces and artists and an alternative place for the most innovative artwork. And it is free. Ben Street and Karl England organize this event focused on emerging artists and galleries.
