ESSENTIAL ART EVENTS IN THE MIDDLE EAST: ART DUBAI AND SIKKA ART FAIR

No doubt that the Middle East is currently one of the booming regions in many fields and the art’s sector is not an exception. From the last five years, the most important contemporary art event in the MENASA region (Middle East, North Africa, South Asia), Art Dubai, has been taking place in this city.

Art Dubai 2012 will run from 21 March until 24 March showcasing the work of artists from 31 countries, featuring up to 75 galleries from all over the world. The programme includes workshops and curatorial and educational projects.

But this is not the only interesting and unmissable contemporary art event taking place in the region during these days. Sikka Art Fair is launching its second edition. From 15 March until 25 March, galleries, dealers, museums and institutions, art lovers and collectors are invited to know the latest and the newest of emerging Emirati and local artist artworks. Sikka Art Fair aims to be a platform for emerging artists and a place for inspiration and networking.
