The conference focus on learning about the interactions between cultural heritage collections and the current information society
“Enriching Cultural Heritage” is the theme of the CIDOC 2012 Conference which is taking place in Helsinki (Finland) from next 10 June until 14 June. The meeting will highlight the possibilities that the new information society can offer to the cultural heritage’s management, the latest tools and the newest technologies.
The conference will address some of the most interesting and fashionable issues concerning cultural heritage under four core themes: Social Media, the contributions of multilingualism and regional cultures, the innovations of documentation and encouraging the interoperability of data resources.
There is no doubt that social media are a hot topic nowadays. Attendees to the summit will have the opportunity of sharing experience and knowledge and learning about different ways of using these tools and technologies for cultural heritage’s management.
Alongside the conference sessions and talks, a wide range of valuable workshops, tutorials and working groups will also take place. The program also includes a number of visits and excursions.
