MATISSE/DIEBENKORN AT SAN FRANCISCO MUSEUM OF MODERN ART

The SFMOMA (San Francisco Museum of Modern Art) houses the exhibition Matisse/Diebenkorn focuses on the inspiration that the American painter Richard Diebenkorn (1922 Portland, Oregon-1993 Berkeley, Calofornia) found in Henri Matisse’s work (1869 Le Cateau-Cambrésis, France-1954 Nice, France).

The exhibition features 100 paintings and drawings, 60 by Diebenkorn and 40 by Matisse, which highlights the connection between these artists who can be considered as two exceptional masters of the twentieth century’s art.
